Terms and Conditions

Last updated:

This document is a working draft and should be reviewed by a qualified UK solicitor before ZipLocal's full public launch.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the ZipLocal website. By accessing or using ZipLocal, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. About the service

ZipLocal ("we", "us", "our") operates an online local business directory at ziplocal.co.uk. The service allows users to discover local businesses, events and offers, and allows businesses to create and manage listings.

ZipLocal is currently in an early launch phase. Listings shown on the site may include sample entries used to demonstrate the service. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or availability of any listing.

2. Use of the website

You may use ZipLocal for lawful purposes only. You must not use the site in any way that:

  • Breaches any applicable law or regulation.
  • Is fraudulent, deceptive or misleading.
  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of ZipLocal or any third party.
  • Transmits unsolicited commercial communications.
  • Attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the service for any user who breaches these terms.

3. Business listings

Businesses that submit a listing to ZipLocal agree to our Business Listing Terms. Listings are reviewed before publication. We reserve the right to decline, edit or remove any listing at our discretion.

Businesses are responsible for ensuring that their listing information — including contact details, opening hours, offers and events — is accurate and kept up to date. ZipLocal accepts no liability for loss or inconvenience caused by inaccurate listing information.

4. Intellectual property

The ZipLocal name, logo, website design and original content are the intellectual property of ZipLocal and may not be reproduced without our written permission. Business names, logos and descriptions remain the property of the respective businesses.

5. Limitation of liability

ZipLocal is provided on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, reliability or availability of the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ZipLocal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or reliance on any listing information.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

6. Privacy

Your use of ZipLocal is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of ZipLocal shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of ZipLocal after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
