Important notice to visitors and customers
ZipLocal provides directory and advertising information only. It does not guarantee the identity, qualifications, availability, quality, safety or suitability of any listed business, service, offer or event. Customers should carry out their own checks before purchasing goods or services or entering into any agreement with a listed business.
These Business Listing Terms apply to any person or organisation that submits or manages a listing on ZipLocal. By submitting a listing, you agree to these terms. These terms should be read alongside our general Website Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
Listings are open to businesses, sole traders, community organisations and other entities that operate within the United Kingdom. You must be authorised to act on behalf of the business you are listing and to submit the content, images and logos included in the listing.
ZipLocal reserves the right to decline any listing application without giving a reason.
2. Accuracy and your responsibility
You are solely responsible for ensuring that all information in your listing is accurate, complete, current and not misleading at all times. This includes:
- Business name, address, phone number, email and website.
- Opening hours, including seasonal variations and temporary closures.
- Descriptions of products or services, including prices and availability.
- Offers, promotions and their terms and conditions, including expiry dates.
- Events and their details, including dates, times, venues and ticket information.
You must update your listing promptly if any of this information changes. ZipLocal accepts no liability for loss or inconvenience caused to visitors or customers who rely on inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date listing information.
3. Acceptable content
Listing content must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. In particular, you must not include content that:
- Is false, misleading, deceptive or likely to mislead consumers.
- Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party, including copyright, trademarks or design rights.
- Is defamatory, offensive, discriminatory, harassing or otherwise harmful.
- Promotes illegal goods, services or activities.
- Contains unsolicited advertising or spam directed at other users.
- Impersonates another business, person or organisation.
- Violates any applicable law or regulation, including consumer protection and advertising standards law.
4. Intellectual property and content licence
By submitting content to ZipLocal — including business names, descriptions, images, logos and other materials — you grant ZipLocal a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce and use that content on the ZipLocal website and in related promotional materials for the purpose of operating and promoting the directory. You retain ownership of your content.
You confirm that:
- You own or have obtained all necessary permissions and licences to use and submit the content, including any images, logos and photographs.
- The content does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights or any other rights of any third party.
- You have the right to grant ZipLocal the licence described above.
If you believe that content on ZipLocal infringes your intellectual property rights, please see section 7 (Complaints and takedowns).
5. Listing review and moderation
All listings are reviewed by ZipLocal before publication. We may edit listing content for clarity, formatting or compliance with these terms. We will endeavour to notify you of any significant changes.
We reserve the right to review, edit, reject, suspend or remove any listing at any time if we believe it breaches these terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, or is otherwise inappropriate or harmful. We will endeavour to notify you if we remove your listing, but are not obliged to do so in all circumstances.
Submission of a listing does not guarantee publication or approval.
6. Complaints and corrections
Visitors to ZipLocal can report listings they believe contain inaccurate, misleading or inappropriate content using the "Report this listing" link on each listing page, or by contacting us.
We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action, which may include contacting you to request corrections, editing the listing, or removing it. We aim to acknowledge reports within five working days.
If you believe information about your business on ZipLocal is inaccurate, please contact us and we will investigate promptly.
7. Intellectual property complaints and takedowns
If you believe that content on ZipLocal infringes your copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights, please contact us with the following information:
- Your name and contact details.
- A description of the intellectual property right you believe has been infringed.
- The URL or location of the allegedly infringing content on ZipLocal.

8. Paid plans, renewals, cancellation and refunds
ZipLocal currently offers a free listing tier and a paid ZipLocal Plus plan. The features available on each plan are described on our For Businesses page.
Paid plans are billed monthly on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time through your account or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months already paid.
We reserve the right to change our pricing with reasonable notice. We will notify you by email before any price change affects your active subscription. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
[LEGAL REVIEW] Refund rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 should be reviewed by a solicitor before this section is finalised.
9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ZipLocal shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or reliance on any listing information.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

[LEGAL REVIEW] This limitation of liability clause should be reviewed by a solicitor to ensure it is reasonable and enforceable under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
